One White Horse Standing Newsletter

Hi folks;

We have had an interesting change of events. The Prairie House (Big House) at Bethel Horizon near Dodgeville, Wisconsin has opened and we are moving back to it for Vulture Medicine over the Halloween weekend. This means that we have nine (9) openings that can be filled for the workshop. In addition, a live turkey vulture will be coming to the workshop to share its medicine.

For anyone that got closed out because of the smaller facilities, here's a chance to come to this amazing workshop. (My guess is that many of you will have a shift that will enable you to come, even though it did not seem possible.)

The importance of this workshop is that we are doing vulture medicine over Halloween as the Mayan 5 year window of 2007-2011 will close two months later. Vulture Medicine involves digesting that which has died within ourselves so that we can nourish and sustain the life we are creating. Halloween involves the time that the veils are thinnest between our frozen, fragmented, and lost parts or lives. The Mayan calendar involves a 512 year prophecy that closes 12/31/11. During the period of 2007-2011, the opportunity to transform unfinished business from this or past lives as well as free ourselves from ancestral wounds that have plagued the last seven generations occurs.

Bountiful Blessings,

Vulture Medicine

October 28-30, 2011
Bethel Horizons Barn

The vulture represents Purification, Death & Rebirth, New Vision. It is the is the most misunderstood and misaligned bird. People see them as gross and associate them with death, but myths reflects just the opposite. In Greek tradition, it was associated with heaven and earth, spirit and matter, good and evil, guardian and avenger. It was considered the avenger of the nature spirits.

The vulture has a wonderful ability to see and use the thermals rising from the earth, giving them lift. Their ability to use the thermals is likened to auric vision, the ability to see subtle energy emanations from the body. They have keen eyesight (8X humans) and powerful senses of smell. The sense of smell is associated with higher forms of discrimination. It can help you decide whether or not something doesn't quite smell right.

Sacred Space

The sacred space will be anchored by an altar of 800-1000 pounds of rocks and crystals. In addition, each person is asked to bring eight(8) pieces of granite that will be used to create individual and intertwining sacred circles. The combination will be to create a massive healing energy to anchor the weekend.

Integration is the process by which we begin to support the chaos around and within us to form a new order. For some, this will be to complete the parallel (or past, if you are linear) life lessons and unfinished business, and/or to heal bleed-through. For others, it will be a return to the center, where the wisdom of internal authority will be rekindled to provide a guiding light for each person.

Wolf Medicine InititationWolf Medicine

An Initiation

November 11-13, 2011

Indigenous cultures refer to medicine as the essence of the person, place or thing. In our terms it is the essence of being a spiritual, physical, mental and emotional being. Wolf medicine is about the essence of wolf spirit. Wolves are very ritualistic—in as many ways as humans. They live by carefully defined rules. There are specific territories that are sacred. Their social behavior is based upon a hierarchical structure. Each has its place and function within it.

The wolf teaches you to know who you are and to develop strength, confidence, and surety so that you do not have to demonstrate and prove yourself to all. Wolves have a complex communication system, using body language. If you have difficulty conveying your moods and ideas to others, wolf will teach you how to empower your verbal communications with appropriate body language.

Every member of the pack knows its position in relationship to everyone else within that pack. The ritualistic behaviors that establish the wolf ranks are part of its magic. Wolf packs are not entirely autocratic. Neither are they democratic. There are times when both occur, and it is this flexibility which adds to the success of wolf government. Wolf can teach the lesson of proper governorship—a balance between authority and democracy. Wolf can teach you how to use ritual to establish order and harmony within your own life. Wolf helps us to understand that true freedom requires discipline.

Wolf Medicine Workshop

The Wolf Medicine workshop is an initiation—a birthing process to more fully be who you are within the world. The focus is to discover the innate healing presence within yourself that have not been allowed to be seen or heard, let alone to mature as part of who you are. We will nurture those parts so as to begin to create a more centered and balanced life. Our intent is to create the sacred space that will enable you to fully birth who you are, shedding the parts that no longer serve the fullness of your presence. Each person will be given the opportunity to be initiated into the wolf medicine.
