One White Horse Standing Newsletter

Hi folks

A very cool summer is quickly flying by...lots has been happening.

I am heartened with the shift that seems to be occurring where people from the past are emailing about how they are using the stones as part of a regenerative healing practices (seems they went off the grid of who they are for awhile) or to clear the toxins from beautiful lakes. As I reflect on the emails, I realize that I was off my own grid for a number of months...actually many months. I seem to have found my way back to using the healing stones for myself and others. Much quicker to do healing work than in the past and after three years, I am unpacking the tons of stones to bring them to light on our farm. The pond now has a waterfall clad with 4-500 pounds of Black Hills Rose Quartz along with a very sizable shiva lingum. We renamed it the "healing pond" from watching what is happening to people when they sit by it.

I brought to light the four deep, blood red zincite clusters into the house. The clusters are sitting on our sun porch revitalizing from the sun baths. Each person either becomes mesmerized from the astounding resonance or doesn't even notice them until I point them out. Fun to watch even those that do not consciously understand energy, as they move their hands a few inches above the clusters.

I have the urge to bring more of the 100+ pound quartz, amazonite, amethyst, etc. crystals into the house and into my office. Seems that it is time to begin the energies to our new property.

I am being called to Massachusetts both in my business and in the healing arenas. Two shamanic workshops are being scheduled for this fall and spring. Haven't been in that area for a few years. Seems there is an energy that makes it feel like the right time.

The big kahuna of shamanic workshops for this year is Dragon Medicine, October 30-November 1. It is Halloween weekend. We did this workshop three or four years ago and it was clearly the most transformative workshop we have ever done at Bethel Horizons near Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The timing must be "right" for another round as more people who have never studied me are making the journey. Dragon Medicine is about healing the core and all of your personal soldiers that protect it from further wounding.

At Dragon Medicine, I will be doing personal healing work on the 29th. Appointments are scheduled through Marie Smith. See below.

My cousin recently asked me to go through an exercise to see if my native name has changed. I did so and was surprised that it is Thunder Horse. I wonder if these are the changing that I have been experiencing.

Bountiful Blessings

Upcoming Workshops

Dragon Medicine Workshop

A Initiation Into a Fuller Self
Friday, October 30th through Sunday November 1st, 2009
Bethel Horizons, Dodgeville, WI

Dragon Medicine

Dragon Medicine is the essence of self-transformation.

The workshop is a shamanic intensive retreat; held in a circle of sacred space where all participants share the experience of their healing journey. The class is structured around using sacred space and various exercises, prayers and journeys to explore your relationship to dragon medicine. As you connect your internal dragons will transform. They might be dragons who already assist and teach you and in that case you will deepen your relationship with them. Or they might be dragons who protect you from your inner traumas at the expense of holding parts of you hostage. Either way the dragons can reveal a path to deeper levels of your heart.

Dragon myths are filled with duality. They are associated with fire and ice. Western myths tend to be filled with the fiery character of dragons. Stories of their power as warriors and the awakening of greed and carnal natures. Eastern culture has focused on the watery side of dragon with stories of magical cures and the search for the elixir of eternal life. In both cultures dragons are connected to royalty. In this workshop we will journey to both the source of fire and water to see what each holds for us as gifts and how we can source our deep healing from them.

On the mythological level, many cultures have myths of dragons or the "world serpent" holding the world together. To "wake the dragon" in these stories will cause earthquakes so big they will break the world apart. In our personal world, we are often prevented from integrating the trauma's that shape us by fears that the world will end. This workshop guides you step by step into transforming your "dragons" into powerful allies for self-knowledge.

Background: The Medicine Wheel has been used for thousands of years to provide insight into the human condition. It has been used in one form or another in nearly all original tribes from native American Indians to many African tribes to Tibetan Bon Po to Australian Aborigines.

Rocks and crystals have been treasured for their beauty and healing energies since the dawn of time. Spiritual and healing ceremonies incorporating rocks, often in the form of gemstones, and crystals were performed by Mayan, Native American Indians, Aztec, Inca, African, Tibetan, and Celtic Cultures. In more recent times, the Bible refers to quartz crystals more than 200 times as well as a multitude of other rocks in the form of gemstones and crystals.

What to expect: The Medicine Wheel workshop is a birthing workshop. We will explore the cycles of life and the stages of change. The focus is to discover the innate aspects of yourself that have not been allowed to be seen or heard. We will nurture those parts so as to begin to create a more centered and balanced life.

Who Should Come: The workshop is designed for people from all walks of life. It is focused towards expanding the awareness of spiritual explorers, healing and shamanic practitioners, and the delightfully inquisitive.

What to Bring: Please bring any rocks or crystals that want to come along. A journal notebook is encouraged as well as any comforts for sitting on the floor, such as floor chairs, back supports, blankets, pillows, etc.

For the medicine wheel, please bring photographs of yourself or your family that reflect infancy, childhood, adulthood, and elders. In addition to (or instead of the prior photographs) bring photos, images and/or symbols that represent the energies of the Kinq, Queen, and/or Sovereign; the Lover, Healer, and/or Feminine; the Magician, Sage, and/or Shaman; and the Warrior, Soldier, Samurai, and/or masculine
