Raven MedicineRaven Medicine

January 27-29, 2012
Bethel Horizons
Dodgeville, Wisconsin

Magic, shape shifting, and creation are its keynotes. Its cycle of power is Winter solstice. It is the bird of birth and death, and it is a bird of mysticism and magic.

The raven represents a duality as folklore around the world depicts in terms of both light and darkness. It was considered by some to be "unclean" due to its being a scavenger. Odin, the Norse god, used them as spiritual messengers. In some areas, it was believed that the Raven foretold death, and others believed that wicked priests became Ravens.

The Raven is a member of the corvids family, crows and magpies. The only difference between a raven and a crow is size. The raven is much larger. Thus, much of what applies to the crow applies to the raven.

Separate from the crow, the raven is believed to bring forth life and order. Nothing could exist without the raven. It stole the sunlight from the one who would keep the world in darkness. It is honored in art and on totem poles, reflecting the tales and mysticism that have developed around it.

Sacred Space

The sacred space will be anchored by an altar of 800-1000 pounds of rocks and crystals. In addition, each person is asked to bring eight(8) pieces of granite that will be used to create individual and intertwining sacred circles. The combination will be to create a massive healing energy to anchor the weekend.

Integration

Integration is the process by which we begin to support the chaos around and within us to form a new order. For some, this will be to complete the parallel (or past, if you are linear) life lessons and unfinished business, and/or to heal bleed-through. For others, it will be a return to the center, where the wisdom of internal authority will be rekindled to provide a guiding light for each person.

Bring your Stones including 8 pieces of granite

Each person is encouraged to bring whatever stones or crystals that feel appropriate or necessary to support your process. In addition, several stones will be provided for use during workshop. Some of the crystals will be gifted to you. Others will be available for purchase at cost or returned at the end of the workshop.

Cougar MedicineCougar Medicine

An Initiation
March 23-25, 2012
Camp Asbury, Hiram, Ohio

Indigenous cultures refer to medicine as the essence of the person, place or thing. In our terms it is the essence of being a spiritual, physical, mental and emotional being. Cougar or Panther medicine is about the essence of the deep knowing spirit The cougar/panther is the second largest cat in the western hemisphere. It is also one of the fastest and most powerful animals, but it tires quickly. It is powerful enough to kill with its bite or its claws. It can leap over 40 feet.

It is a stealthy hunter, and many of the qualities of the panther hold true for the cougar. If cougar has shown up in your life, it is time to learn about power. Test your own. Most young cougars learn how to use their power through trial and error. It strengthens them and hones their skills. When cougar shows up as totem, much of the trial has been worked through. Now it is time to assert.

People may not like your asserting. They may try and keep you in the category they have always kept you. You can choose to remain so, or you can stretch your muscles and show your capabilities. Those with cougar medicine fall easily under attack, especially by those who have grown comfortable with the status quo and do not wish to truly see you grow. Remember that there will always be some who will not wish to see you come into your own power or will ever acknowledge that you have. If cougar has shown up, there is a choice to be made, and it should be made quickly and strongly. A cougar leaps at its opportunities.

Cougar/Panther Medicine Workshop

The Cougar/Panther Medicine workshop is an initiation—a birthing process to more fully be who you are within the world. The focus is to discover the innate healing presence within yourself that have not been allowed to be seen or heard, let alone to mature as part of who you are. We will nurture those parts so as to begin to create a more centered and balanced life. Our intent is to create the sacred space that will enable you to fully birth who you are, shedding the parts that no longer serve the fullness of your presence. Each person will be given the opportunity to be initiated into the Cougar/Panther medicine.
